Q1: If the linear velocity of a point on the rim of a wheel of 10 m diameter, is 50 m/sec, its angular velocity will be

A 20 rad/sec

B 15 rad/sec

C 10 rad/sec

D 5 rad/sec.

ANS:D - 5 rad/sec.

Linear velocity = angular velocity * radius.
v= wr
where d=10 , v= 50m/s, r=d/2 = 10/2 =5.

So w=v/r w= 50/5 = 10 radian/sec.
