Q1: If the rate of change of the super-elevation along a curved portion of a 7 metre wide road is 1 in 150 and the maximum super-elevation allowed is 1 in 15, the maximum length of the transition curve to be provided at either end, is

A 65 m

B 70 m

C 75 m

D 80 m

E 90 m

ANS:B - 70 m

Length = eN(W+Widening),
Since widening is not given we consider it 0 here.
e=allowable superelevation.
1/N = 1/150 (given) = rate of change of 'e'.
So N=150.
Length = 0.067*150*(7+0)=70m.
