Q1: In a 20 Vac series RC circuit, if 20 V is measured across the resistor and 40 V is measured across the capacitor, the applied voltage is:

A 45 V

ANS:A - 45 V

For series RC circuit, the formula is E= √(E resistive component^2 + E capacitive component^2)

E= √(20^2 + 40^2) = 44.72 V approx. 45 V.
