  3. Industrial Applications: STPP is utilized in various industrial processes, including metal surface treatment, ceramics manufacturing, and textile processing, where it functions as a dispersant, emulsifier, or buffering agent.
Despite its widespread use, concerns have been raised about the environmental impact of STPP, particularly its role in eutrophication when discharged into aquatic environments. Efforts have been made to reduce its use in detergents and find environmentally friendly alternatives.
