Q1: The magnetic bearing of a line is 32° and the magnetic declination is 10° 15' W. The true bearing is

A 21° 45'

B 42° 15'

C 42° 15' W

D 21° 45' W

ANS:A - 21° 45'

TB=MB+MD (if deflection toward east).
TB=MB-MD (if deflection toward west).

In this problem;
Given: MB=32degree.

And
MD = 10degree and 15 minutes (west).

Therefore;

TB=MB-MD{because deflection in west side is given that's why we take it negative).
TB=32'-10'15' = 21'45'.

Hence answer A is correct. MD = MB - TB.
10'15" = 32' - TB
-21'45" = -TB
Hence, TB = ANS "A". TRUE BEARING = MAGNETIC BEARING - MAGNECTIC DEC.
TB = 32' - 10'15' = 21'45'.
