GATE Exam Questions

Q1: The number of revolutions of a current meter in 50 seconds were found to be 12 and 30 corresponding to the velocities of 0.25 and 0.46 m/s respectively. What velocity (in m/s) would be indicated by 50 revolutions of that current meter in one minute ?

A 0.42

B 0.50

C 0.60

D 0.73

ANS:C - 0.60

0.25 = 12a + b.
0.46 = 30a + b.
a = 0.01167, b = 0.11
For 50s, N = 50 * 50/60 = 41.67,
So,V = (0.01167 * 41.67) + 0.11.
V = 0.6.
