When a 1.6 k resistor and a 120  resistor are connected in parallel, the total resistance is

A greater than 1.6 k

B greater than 120  but less than 1.6 k

C less than 120  but greater than 100 

D less than 100 

ANS:C - less than 120  but greater than 100 

In Parallel combination, the equivalent resistance is less than the smallest resistance but to calculate whether resistance is greater than 100 ohms or not we have to do the said calculations R = R1R2/ (R1+R2).
R = 1600 * 120/ (1600+120).
R = 111.62.
