RL Circuits

Q1: When the frequency is decreased, the impedance of a parallel RL circuit

A increases

B decreases

C remains constant

D is not a factor

ANS:B - decreases

In parallel RL circuit, try to solve first the value of admittance (Y) =sqrt ( (1/R) ^2+ (1/XL) ^2) ; XL=2*pi*f*L, meaning, when f (frequency) decreased. Your Y increased. And remember that impedance (Z) is inversely proportional to Y. Z=1/Y.
