Manikanta H Hoblidhar set a new national record in the 100m sprint at the 62nd National Open Athletics Championships 2023. The 22-year-old sprinter had reset the seven-year-old national record in the men's 100m by clocking 10.23s in the semi-finals on Wednesday. In the 100m final on Thursday, Manikanta Hoblidhar won the title in 10.42s and was followed on the podium by Nikhil Patil (10.69) and Siva B (10.70). Manikanta Hoblidhar surpassed the previous national record of 10.26 seconds held by Amiya Kumar Mallick since April 2016.
